There are a couple of things that are very important when you are conducting a focus group discussion: 1. How do you keep the respondents interested in the group discussion for the 90 minutes that you are talking to them? 2. How do you get all the respondents to participate in the discussion and not be mute/bored spectators to the session? For a person like me who has witnessed a lot of such groups, it was very refreshing to watch that the team at "The KEY" achieved these objectives and achieved it brilliantly. At the end of the 90 minutes the respondents seemed still raring to go and keen to participate more.

Working with The Key was an unusual experience. They spend a lot of time with the client in understanding needs and they clarify needs as a lot of times clients are not very clear about what answers need to be addressed themselves. They choose the target audience very diligently and do not sugar coat any findings. 1. Inputs on the brief
Your articulation and suggestions to develop our brief in to clear research objectives was quite erudite.
2. Research methodology
On hindsight your firmness of not getting swayed with our push on segments or suggested methods did make all the difference in output.
3. Research moderation
I think the fact that you moderate all your research personally is your biggest plus point as there is no dilution in between the chief researcher understands and what finally gets executed. To this end let me add that you handled even the Tamil and Telugu moderation quite adeptly.
4. Disciplined execution
All aspects of your field work was quite disciplined and impeccable. Given that in our category the recruitment and moderation can be quite complex as people are shy to speak about their personal spaces, you and your team did an excellent job.
5. Final presentation and insights
Your presentation had very logical and easy flow, it was easy to comprehend and most importantly the insight that you shared have helped in making some crucial decisions. Though we have still wait and watch the ultimate results of the your suggested changes but the initial scores are pretty encouraging.

The entire experience of working with The Key from day 1 of the pitch meeting was extremely professional and very very convenient. Shalini’s approach is filled with passion which is one of the topmost priority to get great results. The approach for research was one with attention to detail and very thorough.
The entire approach - the pre-search was something that was a value add and that actually showed the immersiveness of The Key to treat a certain project without even contracting the project. This is something that was not suggested by any other research company we contacted. Additionally the approach towards the research was different from what traditional research agencies recommend - the typical quant / FD / personal interviews. The construct and format of the sessions were very unique.
